Picnic in the Park

I haven't posted much lately because I have been SO preoccupied with reading. I have been reading a lot lately! It started back in August when I went to California and I borrowed a book from my sister for the drive. Since then I have dusted off my library card and put it to use! I just love going to the library and picking up a new book (nerdy I know) especially when it was on hold! I have read Something Borrowed, The Last Song, Charlie St. Cloud and I am on the Mortal Instruments series which is so good! They are making them into movies and the first one comes out next year so it should be great!  On Sunday we had Stake Conference and no family get togethers so we had a lot of time to hang out with each other which was so awesome! We had a picnic at this park by our house.   Hanging out in the shade because it was so warm! We had to play frisbee in the shade as well!  All these pictures were taken on my phone so they aren't the greatest but I had to snap a pic of the mountai…

Fall Tablescape

I give you my completed fall 'tablescape'!  Using all the decorations given to me for my birthday and the gift card to Hobby Lobby (can I just say hobby lobby is just about the best store ever!) I have put together a fun little table.  In the vase are little pine cones, gourds, and pumpkins. I saw on pinterest where people put christmas balls in vases so I thought why don't I use pine cones to hold up my leaves. I just love this time of year especially now that it is cooling down. The temp is perfect here! Thanks everyone who took part in me making this table possible!

First Week of September

So I am going to start off by saying we have a million birthdays in my family in September! Maybe my fam is really fertile in December? I don't know what it is but it is kind of a crazy month for the Roundy's! We started off the month with one big party for every September birthday (that lives in Utah) which included 7. WHOA! I made an oreo pudding poke cake for it and it was really yummy!  Below are 3 of nieces Alyssa (she is officially a teenager come friday... weird!), Ashlee and Emma. Then my nephew chase.  Everyone gathered for presents. Not sure what Loren was doing and to who haha  It's little Desmonds first birthday this month so he got his very own heart shaped cake made my g-ma. He loved it so much! This is before the mess.  And this is after. Of course I had to photo bomb.  On Labor day after work we headed to Seven Peaks one last time this year with the in laws. The weather was perfect! Starting to not be so blazing hot but enough to swim! Below is my super cu…

Wrapping up Summer

I can not believe it is September! It makes me happy, though, because I love fall! Pumpkin treats here I come. :) Dallas and I tried to fit lots of things into our last few weeks of summer. This time of year is bittersweet because Dallas will have to devote more time to school than me which sucks. This first week I have been keeping myself pretty busy, though! I have been reading a lot lately so my library card is getting put to good use! We went to the Utah County fair. We got to see goats and cows which were stinky.  Dallas told me he had never been to rodeo and my jaw dropped! My dad participated in rodeos back in the day and we had horses growing up. I remember we even had a fake steer head that Lance would stick into a bail of hay and practice roping it. Rodeos are redneck and my family is red neck and Dallas' isn't so I guess I can see why he hasn't been to many rodeos in his life.   It was a free rodeo so it wasn't anything big. But they did team roping which i…
