Mom and Dad's 40th Anniversary Surprise

On May 5th, my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. 40 YEARS! It makes me feel old.. ;) For the past six months my siblings have secretly been planning them a party. My grandparents had a big party planned for them for their 40th anniversary so that is why we wanted to do this. We finally narrowed it down to doing a luncheon with just the siblings and spouses and then a reception in the evening with the whole family and invite my parents siblings and friends. The whole day turned out perfect! Sorry for the long post but there are some fun pictures!
For the luncheon we went to Corbins Grille in Layton. Holy smokes! That place seriously rocks. It is fancy, the food was fabulous and it was not expensive at all. Their fried brie was to die for as well as my po boy sandwich! We gave my parents a web cam so they can video chat with the kids who live far away. Roland sketched a family tree, each little family had their own branch for their thumb prints. It turned out really nice and they can hang it in their home. This photo is all of my siblings and their spouses along with my parents at lunch. Everyone drove or flow in which was SO fabulous. I hadn't seen my brother and his family since July so it has definitely been an anxious few months in waiting to see them!
This picture is of my brother (on your left) who lives in New Mexico and my uncle Shad.

A few of my cute nieces and nephews playing soccer during the party. Max broke his arm just a few days before but it didn't stop him from playing with his cousin Easton(in brown from NM).

The party was held in my brother's backyard. We set up tables and a few decorations and lots of treats! There was also a video that Dallas and I put together of pictures from their childhood, dating, newlyweds up until now. It was loads of work but turned out great!
This is my "hoe" from San Fran :) My sister, Lacy, lives on the out skirts of the bay area. I hadn't seen her since Thanksgiving. I cried when I saw her for the first time... I know I am emotional but sometimes a girl just needs her sisters sometimes! :)
A beautiful cake with pearls. So great!! The lady did a great job!
We had brownies and donut holes from Mad Brooks. Seriously the best you will ever eat!! I probably gained three pounds just in those! There was also cookies( dallas was in heaven)
The amazing donuts... chocolate, sugar coated and blueberry. Blueberry is the best!
The girls in my family go crazy over this picture of my dad when he was at boot camp with the picture of my mom on his bedside table!
The man in the red cap... Dave Brown or as we know him DB, is my dad's best friend and fishing partner. DB has been battling cancer off and on for a couple years now. Back in December the cancer miraculously disappeared, making it so he didn't have to go through the life threatening surgery because he only has one kidney. Just a few weeks ago, he was fighting for his life again. He had blood clots in his legs and also in his heart or lungs I can't remember which one. My whole family decided to fast for him and again he got better. This man is a walking miracle but I guess it is just not his time yet! I think my whole family cried when they saw him! He is still his lively, fun self and they already went on their first fishing trip this last week!

Katey, my sister in laws, mad skills with the cookie!
My parents cut the cake just like at their wedding 40 years ago!
My uncle Dave, Dad and uncle Shad. Clearly they are bros!
My parents with a few of my dad's siblings. They are so fun!
My hoes :) Seriously love them so much!
Loren trying to ruin our picture by sticking his butt in the pic!
