Challenges, Accomplishments and Family

Ya'll are probably thinking I have been MIA lately because I haven't posted anything for awhile now. Life for us has changed since the new year like Dallas has previously posted. The New Year so far has brought its ups and downs. We were pretty upset by the news that Dallas would be out of a job soon making us feel very discouraged. It has taken a lot of faith and prayers to get through this, but I am very confident in Dallas being able to find a job. He has this knack for finding a job. He has never had a problem with it! On the plus side I got my raise at work and became a Level 6. I have been training to become a cook at work which has been quite a journey. My manager has been really dedicated in making this happen for me. It has taken four months, a few tears, curse words now and again, and lots of energy. It takes a lot out of you and is really tough to be a cook. Level 6 is the first raise at work that requires being passed off by both my manager and divisional manager. …

Life's curveballs

So you know how sometimes life will throw you a curveball? Well This week loni and I have had another one thrown at us.

On wednesday I found out that Familylink is selling it’s only app to another company which means that I will be out of a job. Here is what i know:

1. The deal is closing on Jan 31st 2. It is pretty much a done deal, but there is still always the possibility that it falls through. 3. They are going to be moving over the dev team, and the marketing team but not the IT. 4. There maybe a transition phase where they give me a month of severance. 5. Our medical, vision, and dental benefits are going away.
This curve ball has definitely made loni and I change our life plan a little bit. I am putting in applications right now but since my schedule at school limits the amount of hours I can work a week I am skeptical that I will be able to find a job before summer, however I am starting to feel better now that I am using my connections to search for job opportunities.

so it’s …

Trip Down Memory Lane: Christmas Tree Prank

You know how the first few weeks of January you see christmas trees on the curbs as you drive through neighborhoods? Well every time I see this it takes me back to a much more carefree time in my life when all that really mattered was what my friends and I were going to do on Friday night. Junior year in high school was truly my favorite year in high school! We were kind of wild and did some crazy, random things but thats what made it so fun! So during Christmas break my friends, Ashley and Chelsey, and I were driving around wondering what the heck we could do, because we were so bored. Naturally, the trees sparked our interests. We decided to collect as many of the trees through out Kaysville as we could and put them all over our friend Braden's house. We knew his family was gone for the evening and we figured it wouldn't be considered stealing, because the trees were going to get picked up as garbage anyways.
This is Chelsey and I delivering the trees to Braden's house th…

New Years resolution / New life Creeds

First of all… HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone. I started off the new year with a resolution to live a healthier lifestyle. i wasnted to get away from the usual “lose some weight” resolution.
In sunday today however I was put to shame. We talked about George Albert Smith (a past Prophet) and it tells about his “personal creed”

- “I will be a friend to the friendless and find joy i ministering to the needs of the poor.”
- “I would visit the sick and afflicted and inspire in them a desire for faith to be healed.” - “I would teach the truth to the understanding and blessing of all mankind.” - “I would seek out the erring one and try to win him back to a righteous and a happy life.” - I would not seek to force people to live up to my ideals but rather love them into doing the thing that is right.” - “I would live with the masses and help to solve their problems that their earth life may be happy.” - “I would avoid the publicity of high positions and discourage the flattery of thoughtless frien…

The Ending of a great year

What a great year 2011 was! It was our first full year of being married and we had some really incredible memories. I just love Dallas so much! Anyways, I will say I am really excited for the new year. Before I get to that I need to finish the details of 2011! Dallas' sister got married on the 30th. The engagement was very short but everything came together beautifully!

Dallas and I had fun taking high school prom pictures! :)

If anyone has seen Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs will understand this picture! They kiss that way in the movie.
Brotherly Love I was able to get off of work early to attend the wedding. It was a great night! We got to hang out with the love birds and the family after the wedding. We went to Texas Roadhouse for a steak celebration! New years eve was pretty low key but was good! We spent it with the Harris'. Everyone was pretty exhausted from all the moving that has been going on so we played games and watched movies. At midnight we had sparkling cider and…
